“When there is famine in the land, if there is plague, blight, mildew, locust, or grasshopper; if their enemy besieges them in the land of their cities; whatever plague, whatever sickness there is;


“When there is famine in the land or when there is pestilence, blight, mildew, winged locust, or grasshopper, or when enemies besiege them in the land up to their city gates, in whatever plague or sickness,


“When I shut up the heaven and there is no rain, or when I command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence on My people,


He spoke and locusts came, young locusts without number,


He gave their crops to the grasshopper and the fruit of their labor to the locust.


For if you refuse to let My people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your territory.


And they shall cover the face of the earth, such that no one will be able to see the earth. What’s more, they shall eat the remainder of that which has escaped —that which remains to you from the hail—and shall eat every tree which grows for you out of the field.

The Lord of Hosts has sworn by Himself, saying: Surely I will fill you with men, as with locusts, and they will lift up shouts of victory against you.

This is what the Lord God showed me: He was forming a plague of locusts when the latter growth was beginning to sprout up, the latter growth after the king’s reaping.


I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that it will not destroy the fruit of your ground, and the vines in your field will not fail to bear fruit, says the Lord of Hosts.


You will carry a lot of seed out into the field but will gather but little in, for the locust will consume it.


The locust will consume all of your trees and fruit of your land.
