12 The vine is dried up, and the fig tree is withered; pomegranate, palm, and apple — all the trees of the field are dry; surely joy has withered away from the sons of men.

You have placed gladness in my heart, more than when their grain and new wine abound.


The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.


Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest, so is my delightful one among the young men. I sat down in his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.


Your shoots are like a paradise of pomegranates, with most excellent fruits, henna with nard,


Gladness and joy are taken away out of the plentiful field, and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, nor shall there be shouting; the treaders shall tread out no wine in their presses. I have made their vintage shouting to cease.


There is an outcry for wine in the streets, all joy is turned to gloom, the joyfulness of the earth is gone.


The new wine fails, the vine languishes, all the merry-hearted sigh.


You have multiplied the nation and increased the joy; they rejoice before You according to the joy of harvest and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.


A sound of crying will be from Horonaim: “Devastation and great destruction!”


Joy and gladness are taken away from the plentiful field, even from the land of Moab, and I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses; no one will tread with shouting. Their shouting will not be shouts of joy.


The field is ravaged, the ground mourns; for the grain is ruined, the new wine is dried up, and the oil dwindles.


Has not the food been cut off before our eyes, joy and gladness from the house of our God?


But at dawn the next day, God appointed a worm to attack the plant so that it withered.


Is the seed yet in the barn? As of yet, the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have yielded nothing. But from this day on I will bless you.


I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that it will not destroy the fruit of your ground, and the vines in your field will not fail to bear fruit, says the Lord of Hosts.


And they came to the Valley of Eshkol, and cut down from there a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they carried it on a pole between two of them, and they brought some of the pomegranates and of the figs.
