I will say to God, Do not condemn me; show me why You contend with me.


“Should anyone say to God, ‘I have borne chastisement, I will offend no more;


teach me what I do not see; if I have done iniquity, I will do no more’?


The Lord looks down from heaven on the sons of men, to see if there are any who are wise, who seek after God.


Therefore, the Lord longs to be gracious to you, and therefore, He waits on high to have mercy on you; for the Lord is a God of justice; how blessed are all who long for Him.


For the iniquity of his unjust gain I was angry and struck him; I hid My face and was wrathful, and he went on turning away in the way of his heart.


He saw that there was no man and was astonished that there was no intercessor; therefore, His own arm brought salvation to Him, and His righteousness sustained Him.


I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in My name, saying, “I had a dream, I had a dream!”


Shall He reserve His anger forever? Shall He keep it to the end?” Behold, you have spoken, but you have done all the evil things that you could.


Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, see now and know; seek in the open places if you can find a man, if there is any who executes justice, who seeks the truth, that I may pardon her.


Because he considered and turned away from all his transgressions that he has committed, he shall surely live. He shall not die.


I sought for a man among them who would build up the hedge and stand in the gap before Me for the land so that I would not destroy it, but I found no one.


Indeed, all Israel has transgressed Your law, even by departing that they might not obey Your voice. “Therefore the curse has been poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the Law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against Him.


The godly has perished from the earth, and no one is upright among men. All of them lie in wait for bloodshed; each hunts his brother with a net.


I said, “Surely you will fear Me; and you will receive correction.” So her dwelling will not be cut off, according to all that I have appointed against her. But they were more eager to corrupt all their deeds.


Now, therefore, thus says the Lord of Hosts: Consider your ways.

Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another. The Lord listened and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who esteem His name.


The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness. But He is patient with us, because He does not want any to perish, but all to come to repentance.


The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands. They did not cease to worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which cannot see nor hear nor walk.
