Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it flow the springs of life.


From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it. Wounds, bruises, and open sores; they have not been closed, nor bandaged, nor soothed with oil.


But the wicked are like the troubled sea when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.


Their webs shall not become garments, nor shall they cover themselves with their works; their works are works of iniquity, and an act of violence is in their hands.


For each time I speak, I cry out; I cry out, “Violence and devastation,” because to me the word of the Lord has resulted in reproach and derision daily.


For thus says the Lord: Your bruise is incurable and your wound is severe.


There is no one to plead your cause that you may be bound up. You have no healing medicines.


Why do you cry because of your affliction? Your sorrow is incurable. Because of the multitude of your iniquities, because your sins are numerous, I have done these things to you.


Indeed this city has been to Me a provocation of My anger and My fury from the day that they built it, even to this day, so that I should remove it from before My face,


Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then has not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?


while they see vanity for you, while they divine a lie to you to bring you upon the necks of the wicked who are slain, whose day has come in the time of the punishment of the end.


For her blood is in her midst; she set it on the bare rock; she did not pour it on the ground to cover it with dust.


Thus says the Lord God: Let it suffice you officials of Israel. Remove violence and destruction, and execute justice and righteousness. Take away your exactions from My people, says the Lord God.


Violence has risen up into a rod of wickedness; none of them shall remain, none of their people, none of their wealth, nor anything eminent among them.


Make a chain, for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence.


Woe to her who is rebellious and defiled, the oppressing city.
