For he flatters himself in his own eyes, so that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.


These things have you done, and I kept silent; you thought that I was indeed like you; but I will rebuke you and make a case before your eyes.


He who conceals his sins will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will find mercy.


There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes, and yet is not washed from its filthiness.


This is the way of an adulteress: she eats, and wipes her mouth, and says, “I have done no wrong.”


Thus says the Lord to this people: Even so they have loved to wander; they have not restrained their feet. Therefore, the Lord does not accept them; He will now remember their iniquity and punish their sins.


And when you tell this people all these words, and they say to you, “Why has the Lord pronounced all this great disaster against us? Or what is our iniquity? Or what is our sin that we have committed against the Lord our God?”


Why do you go about so much to change your way? You also shall be ashamed of Egypt, as you were ashamed of Assyria.


Lift up your eyes to the high places, and see! Where have you not been ravished? In the roads you have sat for them as the Arabian in the wilderness. And you have polluted the land with your harlotry and with your wickedness.


How long will you go about, O faithless daughter? For the Lord has created a new thing in the earth: A woman shall obtain a man.
