And Abram said, “Behold, You have not given me any children, my heir is a servant born in my house.”


The same law shall apply to him that is a native and to the stranger who sojourns among you.


You shall say to Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the Lord: Israel is My son, even My firstborn.


I even bought male and female slaves, and some were born in my house. I also had a great number of livestock, cattle, and sheep, more than there had been before in Jerusalem.


Thus says the Lord: Where is the certificate of divorce by which I sent your mother away? Or to which of My creditors did I sell you? Behold, for your iniquities you were sold, and for your transgressions your mother was sent away.


You, even yourself, will discontinue from your inheritance that I gave you; and I will cause you to serve your enemies in the land which you do not know; for you have kindled a fire in My anger which will burn forever.


It shall come to pass when they say, “Why does the Lord our God do all these things to us?” then you shall answer them, “As you have forsaken Me and served strange gods in your land, so you will serve strangers in a land that is not yours.”
