Enter not into judgment with Your servant, for in Your sight no one living is righteous.


Look to Abraham your father and to Sarah who bore you; for I called him alone, and blessed him, and multiplied him.


For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”


and do not think to say within yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father,’ for I say to you that God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham.

So he cried out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. For I am tormented in this flame.’


“He said, ‘No, father Abraham. But if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’


They answered Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.


Are You greater than our father Abraham, who died? The prophets are dead! Who do You make Yourself out to be?”


He said, “Brothers and fathers, listen! The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Harran,


Therefore by the works of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.


What then shall we say that Abraham, our father according to the flesh, has found?


and the father of circumcision to those who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of the faith of our father Abraham, which he had while still being uncircumcised.


Therefore the promise comes through faith, so that it might be by grace, that the promise would be certain to all the descendants, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all


By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only son.


But a man may say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.


You see then how by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.


I took your father Abraham from beyond the Euphrates, brought him through all the land of Canaan, and gave him many descendants. To him I gave Isaac.
