Now the rulers of the people lived at Jerusalem, so the rest of the people cast lots in order to bring one out of ten to stay in Jerusalem, the holy city, while the other nine remained in other cities.


All the Levites in the holy city were two hundred and eighty-four.


Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in His holy mountain.


Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God.    Selah.


In that day the remnant of Israel and those who have escaped of the house of Jacob shall never again depend on him who struck them, but shall depend on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.


As for our Redeemer, the Lord of Hosts is His name, the Holy One of Israel.


and forget the Lord your maker who has stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth? And have feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor as he makes ready to destroy? Yet where is the fury of the oppressor?


But I am the Lord your God who divided the sea whose waves roared; the Lord of Hosts is His name.


Awake, awake! Put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city. For the uncircumcised and the unclean will no longer enter you.


The portion of Jacob is not like them, for He is the maker of all things, and Israel is the rod of His inheritance. The Lord of Hosts is His name.


“Please inquire of the Lord for us. For Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon is making war against us. Perhaps the Lord will deal with us according to all His wondrous works, so that the enemy withdraws from us.”


Yet hear the word of the Lord, all Judah who dwells in the land of Egypt: Behold, I have sworn by My great name, says the Lord, that My name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, ‘As the Lord God lives.’


“Seventy weeks have been determined for your people and upon your holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make atonement for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.


Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets practice divination for money. Yet upon the Lord they lean, saying, “Is not the Lord in our midst? Evil will not come upon us.”


and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the Holy City and appeared to many.


Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, and set Him on the highest point of the temple,


Indeed you are called a Jew, and rest on the law, and make your boast in God.


But exclude the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the nations. They will trample on the Holy City for forty-two months.


I, John, saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.


And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the Book of Life and out of the Holy City and out of the things which are written in this book.


Then Micah said, “Now I know that the Lord will do good for me, for I have a Levite to be my priest.”
