For the king had ships at sea at Tarshish with the ships of Hiram. Every three years the ships of Tarshish came bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.


For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises with understanding.


The loftiness of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day;


The oracle of Tyre. Wail, O ships of Tarshish, for Tyre is laid waste so that there is no house or harbor; from the land of Cyprus it is reported to them.


Wail, O ships of Tarshish, for your stronghold is laid waste.


Surely the coastlands shall wait for Me, and the ships of Tarshish shall come first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, to the name of the Lord your God and to the Holy One of Israel because He has glorified you.


I will set a sign among them, and send from them survivors to the nations: to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud —who draw the bow—to Tubal, and Javan, to the coastlands afar off who have not heard My fame or seen My glory. And they shall declare My glory among the nations.
