For he says, “Are not my princes altogether kings?


Behold the land of the Chaldeans; this was a people who was not; Assyria founded it for those who dwell in the wilderness. They set up their siege towers, they stripped its palaces, and brought it to ruin.


and have cast their gods into the fire, for they were not gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone. Therefore, they have destroyed them.


I have given him the land of Egypt for his labor with which he labored against it, because they acted for Me, says the Lord God.


When he has taken away the multitude, his heart shall be lifted up; and he shall cast down many ten thousands, but he shall not be strengthened by it.


Out of you, O Nineveh, comes one, a worthless counselor, who devises evil against the Lord.


You have taken Him, who was handed over to you by the ordained counsel and foreknowledge of God, and by lawless hands have crucified and killed Him,


whom God raised up by loosening the pull of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.
