For if my head is lifted up, You would hunt me like a lion, and again You show Yourself marvelous to me.


You know that I am not wicked, and there is none who can deliver out of Your hand.


“Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver:


lest they tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.


Their roaring shall be like a lion, they shall roar like young lions; they shall roar and lay hold of the prey; and shall carry it away, and no one shall deliver it.


He has left His lair as the lion; for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor and because of His fierce anger.


He is to me a bear lying in wait, a lion in hiding.


When they had pasture, they were satisfied. They were satisfied, and their heart was exalted; therefore they forgot Me.


I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, of which she has said, “These are my rewards that my lovers have given me.” I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field will eat them.


Come, let us return to the Lord, for He has torn, and He will heal us. He has struck, and He will bind us up.


Flight will perish from the swift, the strong will not retain his strength, nor will the warrior save his life.


The remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among flocks of sheep, which when it passes through, tramples and mauls, without rescuer.


Your ox will be killed before your eyes, and you will not eat of it. Your donkey will be violently taken away from before you and will not be returned to you. Your sheep will be given to your enemies, and you will have no one to rescue them.


See now that I, even I, am He, and there is no god besides Me; I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal; there is no one who can deliver out of My hand.
