For I earnestly warned your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even to this day, rising early and warning, saying, Obey My voice.


Say to the king and to the queen mother: “Humble yourselves, sit down, for your beautiful crown shall come down from your head.”


As I live, says the King whose name is the Lord of Hosts, surely as Tabor is among the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea, so he shall come.


So will it be done to you, O Bethel, because of your great wickedness. At dawn the king of Israel will be utterly cut off.


I will attack them like a bear bereaved of her cubs, and will tear open their rib cage. There I will devour them like a lion, as the wild beast would tear them to pieces.


Hear the word of the Lord, O Israelites, for the Lord has a dispute with the inhabitants of the land: There is no truth or mercy, and no knowledge of God in the land.


As robbers lie in wait for someone, so a company of priests murder on the way to Shechem. They commit a shameful deed.


The watchman of Ephraim is a prophet for my God; yet a fowler’s snare is on all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.


Hear this, elders, and give ear, all inhabitants of the land! Has anything like this happened in your days, or in the days of your fathers?


Hear this word that the Lord has spoken against you, O Israelites, against the whole family I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying:


The high places of Isaac will be destroyed, the sanctuaries of Israel will be laid waste, and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.”


Then I said: Listen now, heads of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel. Should you not know justice?


Please hear this, heads of the house of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel, who detest justice and warp all that is straight,


The godly has perished from the earth, and no one is upright among men. All of them lie in wait for bloodshed; each hunts his brother with a net.


A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is My honor? And if I am a master, where is My fear? says the Lord of Hosts to you, O priests, who despise My name. But you say, “How have we despised Your name?”


And now, O priests, this commandment is for you.


Then they told Sisera that Barak son of Abinoam had gone up to Mount Tabor.


She sent for Barak son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali and said to him, “The Lord God of Israel commands you, ‘Go and deploy troops at Mount Tabor, and take ten thousand men from the tribes of Naphtali and Zebulun with you.


He went annually in a circuit to Bethel, and Gilgal, and Mizpah. And he judged Israel in all those places.


Then Samuel said, “Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray to the Lord for you.”


They gathered together to Mizpah. And they drew water and poured it out before the Lord. And they fasted on that day, and said there, “We have sinned against the Lord.” So Samuel judged the Israelites in Mizpah.
