1 Hear the word of the Lord, O Israelites, for the Lord has a dispute with the inhabitants of the land: There is no truth or mercy, and no knowledge of God in the land.

And he said, “Hear, therefore, the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing beside Him on His right hand and on His left.


There shall be no strange god among you; nor shall you bow down to any foreign god.


Hear the word of the Lord, you rulers of Sodom; listen to the law of our God, you people of Gomorrah:


Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.


Therefore, hear the word of the Lord, O scoffers, who rule this people who are in Jerusalem,


Come near, O nations, to hear; and listen, O peoples! Let the earth hear, and all that is in it, the world, and all that comes from it.


For it is the day of the vengeance of the Lord, and the year of recompense for the cause of Zion.


Now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge between My vineyard and Me.


No one calls for justice, nor does anyone plead for truth. They trust in vanity and speak lies; they conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity.


The way of peace they do not know, and there is no justice in their ways; they have made their paths crooked; whoever walks in them does not know peace.


Hear the word of the Lord, you who tremble at His word: Your brothers who hate you, who cast you out for My name’s sake, said, “Let the Lord be glorified that we may see your joy.” Yet they shall be ashamed.


For I earnestly warned your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even to this day, rising early and warning, saying, Obey My voice.


and say: Hear the word of the Lord, O kings of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem. Thus says the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring such disaster upon this place, at which whoever hears of it, his ears shall tingle.


Hear the word of the Lord, O house of Jacob and all the families of the house of Israel.


Therefore I will yet contend with you, says the Lord, and with your sons’ sons I will contend.


A noise shall come even to the remote parts of the earth, for the Lord has a controversy with the nations; He shall enter into judgment with all flesh. He shall give those who are wicked to the sword, says the Lord.


Yet hear the word of the Lord, O Zedekiah king of Judah! Thus says the Lord concerning you: You will not die by the sword.


“For My people are foolish, they have not known Me. They are foolish children, and they have no understanding. They are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.”


For this the earth shall mourn, and the heavens above be black, because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not relent, nor will I turn back from it.


Therefore I said, “Surely these are the poor. They are foolish; for they know not the way of the Lord or the judgment of their God.


For Israel has not been forsaken, nor Judah, by his God, the Lord of Hosts, though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.


For from the least of them even to the greatest of them, everyone is given to covetousness. And from the prophet even to the priest, everyone deals falsely.


You shall say to them: This is a nation that does not obey the voice of the Lord their God or receive correction. Truth has perished, and has been cut off from their mouth.


Yet hear the word of the Lord, O you women, and let your ear receive the word of His mouth; and teach your daughters wailing, and everyone her neighbor a lamentation.


They bend their tongues like their bow; lies and not truth prevail upon the land; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they do not know Me, says the Lord.


Therefore thus says the Lord of Hosts: Behold, I will refine them and assay them; for what else shall I do for the daughter of My people?


Therefore, O harlot, hear the word of the Lord.


The Lord has a dispute with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways, and repay him according to his doings.


In the womb, he took his brother by the heel, and by his strength he strove with God.


Hear this, O priests! Pay attention, O house of Israel! Listen, O house of the king! For the judgment is for you, because you have been a snare at Mizpah and a net spread over Tabor,


Their deeds do not allow them to return to their God; for a spirit of harlotry is in their midst, and they do not know the Lord.


Hear this, elders, and give ear, all inhabitants of the land! Has anything like this happened in your days, or in the days of your fathers?


Hear this word that the Lord has spoken against you, O Israelites, against the whole family I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying:


Now therefore hear the word of the Lord: You say, ‘Do not prophesy against Israel, and do not preach against the house of Isaac.’


Hear, mountains, the indictment of the Lord, O enduring foundations of the earth— that the Lord has an indictment against His people, and against Israel He will dispute.


Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. If I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you. But I know Him and keep His word.


And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not proper.


Awake to righteousness and do not sin, for some do not have the knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.


“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.


He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
