So the field and the cave that was in it were deeded to Abraham by the Hittites as property for a burial place.


that he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he owns, at the end of his field. Let him give it to me in your presence for the full price for a burial site.”


Then Abraham breathed his last and died at a good old age, an old man and full of years; and he was gathered to his people.


His sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, east of Mamre,


Jacob came back to Isaac his father in Mamre of Kiriath-arba (which is Hebron), where Abraham and Isaac had sojourned.


And Isaac breathed his last and died and was gathered to his people, being old and full of days, and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.


I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also surely bring you back again. And Joseph’s own hand shall close your eyes.”

So his sons did with him just as he had commanded them.
