He said, “My Lord, if I have found favor in Your sight, do not pass by Your servant.


The messengers returned to Jacob, saying, “We went to your brother Esau. He is coming to meet you, and what is more, four hundred men are with him.”


So Esau said, “Let me leave some of the people that are with me with you.” But Jacob said, “What need is there? Let me find favor in the sight of my lord.”


Pharaoh called Joseph’s name Zaphenath-Paneah, and he gave him a wife, Asenath the daughter of Potiphera priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.


At the harvest, you must give one-fifth to Pharaoh and four parts will be your own, as seed for the field and for your food and for those of your households and for food for your little ones.”


So Joseph made it a law over the land of Egypt to this day, that Pharaoh should have one-fifth, except from the land of the priests, which did not become Pharaoh’s.


But as for you, you intended to harm me, but God intended it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many lives.


Bring every living thing of all flesh, two of every kind, into the ark to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female.


Then she said, “May I find favor in your eyes, my lord, for you have comforted me and have spoken kindly to your servant, though I am not like one of your servant girls.”
