And you will dwell in the land of Goshen, and you will be near me, you and your children and your children’s children, along with your flocks, your herds, and all that you have.


I will provide for you there, for there are still five years of famine to come, lest you and your household, and all that you have, come to poverty.” ’


God sent me ahead of you to preserve you as a remnant on the earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance.


Then Joseph went and told Pharaoh, “My father and my brothers and their flocks and their herds and all that they possess have come from the land of Canaan and are now in the land of Goshen.”


As for the people, he removed them to cities from one end of the borders of Egypt to the other end.


At the harvest, you must give one-fifth to Pharaoh and four parts will be your own, as seed for the field and for your food and for those of your households and for food for your little ones.”


So now, do not fear. I will provide for you and your little ones.” So he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.


Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.


They shall hang on him all the glory of his father’s house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the bowls to all the jars.


But we were gentle among you, like a nurse caring for her own children.


For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable in all things, holding promise for the present life and also for the life to come.


But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety at home and to repay their parents. For this is good and acceptable before God.


But if any do not care for their own, and especially for those of their own house, they have denied the faith and are worse than unbelievers.


He will be a comfort for your soul and support you in your old age. For your daughter-in-law, who loves you and who is better to you than seven sons, has given birth to him.”
