When Israel lived in that land, Reuben went and lay with Bilhah, his father’s concubine, and Israel heard about it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:


So he overtook them, and he spoke to them these same words.


Behold, we brought back to you from the land of Canaan the money that we found in the top of our sacks. Why then would we steal silver or gold from your lord’s house?


Joab responded, “Far be it, far be it from me to swallow up or destroy.


Hazael said, “What? Is your servant a dog that he should do this great thing?” And Elisha said, “The Lord has shown me that you will be king over Aram.”


A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor rather than silver and gold.


A good name is better than precious oil, and the day of one’s death than one’s birth.


Pray for us. For we trust that we have a good conscience and in all things are willing to live honestly.
