“Now therefore, please let your servant stay as a slave to my lord instead of the boy, and let the boy go up with his brothers.


Then Joseph could not restrain himself before all who stood by him, and he cried out, “Make every man go out from me.” So no man stood with him when Joseph made himself known to his brothers.


Behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you will be brought to your grave in peace, and your eyes will not see all the disaster that I am bringing on this place and on those who dwell here.” So they returned this word to the king.


For how am I able to watch the evil that will unfold against my people? How can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?”
