These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brothers, and the boy was with the sons of Bilhah and with the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives. Joseph brought back a bad report about them to their father.


In the seven abundant years the earth brought forth plentifully.


Joseph knew his brothers, but they did not know him.


For these two years the famine has been in the land, and there are still five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvesting.


David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.


King Rehoboam consulted with the old men who advised his father Solomon while he was still alive and asked, “How do you advise me to answer the people?”
