After two whole years, Pharaoh had a dream that he was standing by the Nile.


Then the chief cupbearer spoke to Pharaoh, saying, “Today I remember my offenses.


So the king said, “What honor or dignity has been done for Mordecai as a result of this?” Then the king’s servants attending him said, “Nothing has been done for him.”


My relatives have failed, and my close friends have forgotten me.


Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him.


I am forgotten like a dead man, out of mind; I am like a broken vessel.


For I hear the slander of many; fear is on every side; while they take counsel together against me, they plot to take away my life.


who drink from bowls of wine and anoint themselves with the finest oils, but are not grieved over the destruction of Joseph.
