When the sun went down and it was dark, behold, a smoking fire pot with a flaming torch passed between these pieces.


In the course of time Cain brought an offering to the Lord of the fruit of the ground.


And you call on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord, and the God that answers by fire, let Him be God.” And all the people answered, “It is well spoken.”


Then the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice and the wood and the stones and the dust and licked up the water that was in the trench.


and David built there an altar to the Lord and offered up burnt offerings and peace offerings. He called on the Lord, and the Lord answered him by fire from heaven on the altar of burnt offering.


And when Solomon finished praying, fire came down from the heavens and consumed the burnt offering and sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.


may He remember all your offerings, and accept your burnt sacrifice.   Selah

A fire went out from the Lord and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.


All the best of the oil, and all the best of the wine, and of the wheat, the firstfruits of what they will offer to the Lord, those have I given to you.


But the firstborn of a herd animal, or the firstborn of a sheep, or the firstborn of a goat, you will not redeem. They are holy. You will splash their blood on the altar and will burn their fat as a fire offering, as a pleasing aroma to the Lord.


By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain offered. Through this he was approved as righteous, with God testifying concerning his gifts. He still speaks through his faith, though he is dead.


And according to the law almost everything must be cleansed with blood; without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.


All who dwell on the earth will worship him, all whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb who was slain from the foundation of the world.


The angel of the Lord reached out the tip of the staff that was in His hand and touched the meat and unleavened flatbread. Fire rose out of the rock and consumed the meat and unleavened bread. Then the angel of the Lord departed from his sight.


Samuel said, “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, obedience is better than sacrifice, a listening ear than the fat of rams.
