Then the Lord said, “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave,


Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What have you done?” And the woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”


But for your own lifeblood I will surely require a reckoning; from every animal will I require it; of man, too, will I require a reckoning for human life, of every man for that of his fellow man.


‘Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth and his sons, declares the Lord, and I will pay you back on this property, declares the Lord.’ Now lift him up and throw him onto the property, according to the word of the Lord.”


And there was a prophet there whose name was Oded, and he went out to the army as it approached Samaria and said to them, “Behold, the anger of the Lord God of your fathers is against Judah, and He gave them into your hand, and you all have killed them in a rage that has reached even to heaven.


“O earth, do not cover my blood, and let my cry have no resting place.


Men groan from outside the city, and the soul of the wounded cries out; yet God does not charge them with wrong.


These things have you done, and I kept silent; you thought that I was indeed like you; but I will rebuke you and make a case before your eyes.


He will redeem their life from oppression and violence, and precious shall be their blood in his sight.


He who avenges deaths remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the humble.


Be gracious to me, O  Lord; consider my trouble from those who hate me, O You who lifts me up from the gates of death,


The Lord said, “I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry on account of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.


For the vineyard of the Lord of Hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah His pleasant plant. Thus He looked for justice, but behold, oppression; for righteousness, but behold, an outcry!


So you will not defile the land which you are in, because blood defiles the land, and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed in it, except by the blood of him that shed it.
