The sons of Judah were Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah (but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan). The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.


When the time of mourning was concluded, David sent for her and brought her to his house. She became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing that David had done was displeasing to the Lord.


He cried to the Lord and said, “O  Lord, my God, have You brought tragedy upon the widow with whom I live by killing her son?”


The sons of Judah were Er, Onan, and Shelah: These three were born to him by the daughter of Shua the Canaanitess. Now Er, the firstborn of Judah, was evil in the sight of the Lord, and He put him to death.


Now this thing was evil in the sight of God, and He struck Israel.


The wicked is banished in his wickedness, but the righteous has a refuge in his death.


lest the Lord see it, and it is evil in His eyes, and He turn away His wrath from him.


However, I sent to you all My servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, “Oh, do not do this abominable thing that I hate.”


Then Haggai, the messenger of the Lord, spoke the message of the Lord to the people, saying: I am with you, says the Lord.


Now when the people complained openly before the Lord, the Lord heard, and His anger burned. Then the fire of the Lord burned among them and consumed the outskirts of the camp.


Balaam said to the angel of the Lord, “I have sinned because I did not know that You stood in the way against me. Now therefore, if it displeases You, I will return.”


The sons of Judah were Er and Onan, and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.


If one man sins against another, God will judge him, but if a man sins against the Lord, who will intercede for him?” But they did not listen to the voice of their father, because the Lord desired to kill them.
