He lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing in front of him. When he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them and bowed himself toward the ground.


He put the female servants and their children in front, then Leah and her children next, and then Rachel and Joseph last.


Now Joseph was the governor over the land, and it was he who sold to all the people of the land. So Joseph’s brothers came and bowed themselves down before him with their faces to the ground.


When Joseph came home, they brought into the house to him the present that they had with them and bowed themselves to him to the ground.


So Joseph took them from beside his knees, and he bowed down with his face to the ground.


Do this now, my son, and deliver yourself; since you have come into the hand of your friend, go and humble yourself, and plead with your friend.


If the angry spirit of the ruler rises against you, do not leave your position, for calmness pacifies great offenses.

When he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them. And the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.


Those that were full have hired out themselves for bread, and those that were hungry ceased to hunger. Even the barren has borne seven, and she that has many children wastes away.
