David came to Mahanaim as Absalom crossed the Jordan, he and every Israelite with him.


Abner the son of Ner, with the servants of Ish-bosheth the son of Saul, went out from Mahanaim toward Gibeon.


However, Abner the son of Ner, commander of the army of Saul, had taken Ish-bosheth the son of Saul and brought him over to Mahanaim.


“There is also with you Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite from Bahurim, who cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim. But when he came down to meet me at the Jordan, I swore to him by the Lord, saying, ‘I will not put you to death with the sword.’

Then Elisha prayed, “Lord, open his eyes and let him see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha.


For at that time, day by day, they came to help David until they became a great camp like the camp of God.


Bless the Lord, all you His hosts, you who serve Him, who do His will.


Praise Him, all His angels; praise Him, all His hosts!

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them.
