1 Now Jacob heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, “Jacob has taken away all that was our father’s, and he has gotten all his wealth from what was our father’s.”

The man became exceedingly prosperous and had many sheep and female servants and male servants and camels and donkeys.


Jacob saw the look of Laban and saw he was not congenial toward him as before.


Then Laban answered and said to Jacob, “These daughters are my daughters, and these children are my children, and the flocks are my flocks, and all that you see is mine. But what can I do this day to my daughters or to their children whom they have borne?


You must tell my father of all my glory in Egypt and of all that you have seen, and you must hurry and bring my father down here.”


Haman recounted to them the glory of his riches, his many children, and everything about him the king had praised, and how he had promoted him over the princes and servants of the king.
