He said, “Behold, it is still high day; it is not time for the livestock to be gathered together. Water the sheep, and go and feed them.”


Israel said to him, “Please go and see if it is well with your brothers and well with the flocks, and bring back word to me.” So he sent him out of the Valley of Hebron, and he came to Shechem.


He asked them about their well-being and said, “Is your father well, the old man of whom you spoke? Is he still alive?”


Joab said to Amasa, “Is it well with you, my brother?” and he took Amasa by the beard with his right hand to kiss him.
