As the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell on Abram. And behold, horror and great darkness fell on him.


So Jacob rose up early in the morning and took the stone that he had put under his head, set it up as a pillar, and poured oil on top of it.


He called the name of that place Bethel, but previously the name of the city was called Luz.


Jacob said to his kinsmen, “Gather stones.” So they took stones and made a pile, and they ate there on the pile.


Jesus replied, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head.”


As the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.
