And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram’s livestock and the herdsmen of Lot’s livestock. The Canaanites and the Perizzites dwelt in the land at that time.


Then Abraham complained to Abimelech about a well of water that Abimelech’s servants had violently seized.


But when Isaac’s servants dug in the valley and found a well of running water there,


They dug another well and quarreled over that also. So he called the name of it Sitnah.


you shall say, ‘Your servants have been keepers of livestock from our youth even until now, both we and our fathers,’ so that you may dwell in the land of Goshen, because every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians.”
