Nahor lived after the birth of Terah one hundred and nineteen years, and had other sons and daughters.


Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country, your family, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.


The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your descendants I will give this land.” So he built an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.


But you shall go to my father’s house, and to my relatives, and take a wife for my son.’


Then the servant said to him, “Perhaps the woman will not be willing to follow me to this land. Must I take your son back to the land from which you came?”


Then Isaac called Jacob and blessed him. Then he charged him and said to him, “You must not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.


Arise, go to Paddan Aram to the house of Bethuel your mother’s father, and take for yourself a wife from there, from the daughters of Laban your mother’s brother.


And Jehoiada gave Joash two wives, and he had sons and daughters.


And certainly, if they had been thinking of the country out of which they came, they might have had the opportunity to return.


His father and mother said to him, “Are there no women among your relatives, or all of our people, that you are intending to take a wife from among the uncircumcised Philistines?” Yet Samson said to his father, “Get her for me, for she pleases me well.”
