Now Ephron was sitting among the Hittites; and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the presence of all the Hittites, all who went in at the gate of his city, saying,


“I am a stranger and a foreigner among you. Give me property for a burying place among you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.”


He spoke with them, saying, “If it be your wish that I bury my dead out of my sight, hear me and entreat Ephron the son of Zohar for me,


the field that Abraham purchased from the sons of Heth. There Abraham was buried with his wife Sarah.


Then he charged them and said to them, “I am about to be gathered to my people. Bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite,


For his sons carried him into the land of Canaan and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, near Mamre, which Abraham bought with the field as a burial site from Ephron the Hittite.


Then David said to Ornan, “Give me the site of the threshing floor so that I may build an altar on it to the Lord. Sell it to me at full price so the plague on the people may be restrained.”


Then King David said to Ornan, “No, for I will surely acquire it for the full price, for I will not take what is yours for the Lord, nor offer burnt offerings that cost me nothing.”


Repay no one evil for evil. Commend what is honest in the sight of all men.


Owe no one anything, except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.
