Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” So the two of them went together.


Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.


Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: On the tenth day of this month every man shall take a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for a household.


Now this is what you are to offer on the altar: two one-year-old lambs every day, continually.


He went a little farther, and falling on His face, He prayed, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”


He went away a second time and prayed, “O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.”


The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!


Looking upon Jesus as He walked, he said, “Behold, the Lamb of God!”


Then Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword into the sheath. Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?”


For you have not received the spirit of slavery again to fear. But you have received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba, Father.”


All who dwell on the earth will worship him, all whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb who was slain from the foundation of the world.
