and the Horites in their hill country of Seir, as far as El-paran, which is by the wilderness.


So after Abram had been living for ten years in the land of Canaan, Sarai, his wife, took Hagar her maid, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.


They lived from Havilah as far as Shur, which is east of Egypt, as you go toward Assyria. He died in the presence of all his relatives.


Then Rebekah said to Isaac, “I am tired of my life because of the daughters of Heth. If Jacob takes a wife from the daughters of Heth, such as these who are of the daughters of the land, what good will my life be to me?”


They set out from Midian and went to Paran, and they gathered men from Paran and then arrived in Egypt and presented him before Pharaoh king of Egypt, who gave him a house and provisions and land.


And Jehoiada gave Joash two wives, and he had sons and daughters.


Take wives and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons and give your daughters to husbands, so that they may bear sons and daughters; so that you may increase there and not diminish.


God came from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran.    Selah His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of His praise.


The Israelites set out from the Wilderness of Sinai. And the cloud dwelt in the Wilderness of Paran.


Afterward the people set out from Hazeroth and camped in the Wilderness of Paran.


And they returned and came to Moses and to Aaron and to all the assembly of the Israelites, to the Wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh, and brought back word to them and to the entire assembly and showed them the fruit of the land.


And Moses sent them from the Wilderness of Paran according to the Lord. All those men were heads of the Israelites.


So then he who gives her in marriage does well, but he who gives her not in marriage does better.


He came back up and told his father and mother, “I have seen a woman in Timnah from the daughters of the Philistines; now get her for me as a wife.”


Now Samuel died. And all the Israelites gathered together and mourned him, and they buried him at his home in Ramah. Then David arose and went down to the Wilderness of Paran.
