9 But they replied, “Stand back!” Also, they said, “This man came here as a foreigner, and he keeps acting like a judge. We will deal worse with you than with them.” So they pressed hard against Lot, and came close to breaking down the door.

And the Lord said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do; now nothing that they propose to do will be impossible for them.


Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelt in the cities of the valley and pitched his tent as far as Sodom.


He said, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Moses feared and said, “Surely this thing is known.”


A wise man fears and departs from evil, but the fool throws off restraint and is careless.


Better to meet a bear robbed of her cubs than a fool in his folly.


A stone is heavy and sand is weighty, but the wrath of a fool is heavier than both.


The beginning of the words from his mouth are folly; so the end of his words are evil madness.


This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that the same fate comes to all people. Moreover, the hearts of the children of man are full of evil, and madness is in their hearts while they live; after that they go to the place of the dead.
