Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed and said in his heart, “Shall a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?”


Then God said, “No, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call his name Isaac. I will establish My covenant with him as an everlasting covenant and with his descendants after him.


This matter was very displeasing in Abraham’s sight because of his son.


From now on when you till the ground, it will not yield for you its best. You will be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth.”


Behold, you have driven me out this day from the face of the earth, and from Your face will I be hidden; and I will be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth, and it will happen that anyone who finds me will kill me.”


There are many who say, “Who will show us any good?” Lord, let the light of Your countenance shine upon us.


As for me, You uphold me in my integrity, and set me in Your presence forever.


But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He will not hear.


And I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for their good and for their children after them.


For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all who are far away, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
