Abraham journeyed from there toward the Negev, settled between Kadesh and Shur, and then he sojourned in Gerar.


Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beer-sheba, and there he called on the name of the Lord, the Everlasting God.


They went to the fortress of Tyre and all of the towns of the Hivites and Canaanites. They went to the Negev and Beer-sheba.


Moses sent them to explore the land of Canaan and said to them, “Go up to this southland, and go up into the mountain.


So Joshua attacked the whole land: the hill country, the Negev, the lowlands, the mountain slopes, and all their kings. No survivor was left. He destroyed all who breathed, as the Lord God of Israel had commanded.


They shall divide it into seven portions. Judah will stay in their territory in the south, and the house of Joseph will stay in their territory in the north.


Then Achish would say, “Where have you made a raid today?” And David would say, “Against the Negev of Judah,” or “Against the Negev of the Jerahmeelites,” or “Against the Negev of the Kenites.”
