The border of the Canaanites was from Sidon toward Gerar to Gaza, and then to Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, Zeboyim, as far as Lasha.


These are the generations of Terah. Terah fathered Abram, Nahor, and Haran, and Haran fathered Lot.


Terah took his son Abram and his grandson Lot, son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram’s wife, and they went out together from Ur of the Chaldeans to go into the land of Canaan, but when they came to Haran, they settled there.


Now Lot, who went with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents.


But the land was not able to support them both dwelling together, because their possessions were so great.


When Abram heard that his relative was taken captive, he armed his three hundred and eighteen trained servants born in his own house, and pursued them as far as Dan.


The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the people and take the goods for yourself.”


Then Jacob went out from Beer-sheba and went toward Harran.


Then Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the people of his house, his livestock, all his animals, and all his property that he had acquired in the land of Canaan, and he moved to a land some distance from his brother Jacob.
