The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.


So David made a name for himself upon his return from defeating eighteen thousand Arameans in the Valley of Salt.


They mounted up to the heavens, they went down to the depths; their soul melted in their misery.


For behold, Your enemies, O  Lord, for behold, Your enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.


The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot.


Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from Me will destroyers come to her, says the Lord.


The tree grew and became strong, and its height reached heaven, and it was visible to the end of all the earth.


It is you, O king, who have grown and become strong. Your greatness has grown and reaches to heaven, and your dominion to the ends of the earth.


Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you, and break off your sins by righteousness and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor, in case there may be a lengthening of your prosperity.”


The king spoke, saying, “Is this not Babylon the Great that I myself have built as a royal residence by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?”


He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.


How can you believe, who receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?


Where shall we go up? Our brothers have discouraged our hearts, saying, ‘The people are greater and taller than we. The cities are great and walled up to heaven. And moreover, we have seen the sons of the Anakites there.’ ”


The Lord shall scatter you among the peoples, and you shall be left few in number among the nations where the Lord shall lead you.


Hear, O Israel! You are to cross over the Jordan today, to go in to possess nations greater and mightier than you, great cities fortified up to heaven,
