Then God said, “Let the earth produce vegetation: plants yielding seed and fruit trees on the earth yielding fruit after their kind with seed in them.” And it was so.


Let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth.” And it was so.


Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so.


God called the expanse Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.


Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so.


He binds up the waters in His thick clouds, and the cloud is not broken under them.


You send the springs into the valleys; they flow between the hills.


to Him who by wisdom made the heavens, for His mercy endures forever;


Praise Him, you heavens of heavens, and you waters above the heavens.


The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows His handiwork.


Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge.


If the clouds are full, they empty rain on the land; and if a tree falls to the north or south, in the place where the tree falls, there it will lie.


The men were amazed, saying, “What kind of Man is this that even the winds and the sea obey Him!”
