“Therefore You are great, Lord God. There is none like You, and there is no God except You, according to everything that we have heard with our ears.


We have heard with our ears, O God; our fathers have told us what deeds You performed in their days, in the days of old:


You drove out the nations with Your hand, but them You planted; You afflicted the peoples, but them You set free.


People will say, “Surely there is a reward for the righteous; surely there is a God who judges on earth.”


Now also when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me, until I declare Your might to this generation, and Your power to everyone who is to come.


which we have heard and known, that our fathers have told us.


“It shall be when your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘What is this?’ that you shall say to him, ‘With a strong hand the Lord brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage.


Then the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord when I am honored through Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”


So I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, so that he shall pursue them. And I will be honored because of Pharaoh and because of all his army, so that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord. And they did so.


Thus says the Lord, “In this you shall know that I am the Lord: Behold, I will strike the waters of the Nile with the rod that is in my hand, and they shall be turned to blood.


And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord when I stretch forth My hand upon Egypt and bring out the Israelites from among them.”


Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt.


It is the living who give thanks to You, as I do this day; a father explains to his sons about Your faithfulness.


And I pronounced them unclean because of their gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all who opened the womb, that I might make them desolate in order that they might know that I am the Lord.


When I had brought them into the land for which I lifted up My hand to give it to them, then they saw every high hill and all the leafy trees, and there they offered their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering. There also they made their sweet aroma and there poured out their drink offerings.


Tell it to your children, and let your children tell their children, and let their children tell another generation.


Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.


Only give heed to yourself and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things which your eyes have seen and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life, but teach them to your sons, and your grandsons.
