8 No person has power over the wind to restrain it, or power over the day of death. No one is discharged from war, nor will wickedness release those who practice.

We will surely die and are like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. Yet God does not take away a life; He devises plans so that His banished ones will not be cast out from Him.


So they went after them to the Jordan, and behold, the whole way was full of clothes and vessels, which the Arameans had thrown away in their haste. Then the messengers returned and told the king.


Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with You; You have appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;


If He sets His heart on man, if He gathers unto Himself His Spirit and His breath,


What man can live and not see death? Who can deliver his soul from the power of Sheol?    Selah


The wicked will depart to Sheol, all the nations that forget God.


A man is not established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous will not be moved.


The wicked is banished in his wickedness, but the righteous has a refuge in his death.


Who has experienced the spirit of people ascending above, or the spirit of animals descending below the earth?”


But it will not be well with the wicked, neither will he prolong his days like a shadow, because he does not stand in reverence before God.


For no one knows his appointed time. Like fish caught in a cruel net, like birds caught in a snare, so people are ensnared in an evil time, when it suddenly falls on them.


because you have said, “We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol we are in agreement. The overflowing scourge shall not come to us when it passes through, for we have made lies our refuge and under falsehood we have hidden ourselves.”


Your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge passes through, then you shall be trodden down by it.


For you have trusted in your wickedness; you have said, “No one sees me”; your wisdom and your knowledge have perverted you; and you have said in your heart, “I am, and there is no one besides me.”


It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power.


For though He was crucified through weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. So also we are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God serving you.


As it is appointed for men to die once, but after this comes the judgment,
