Then Haman continued, “Indeed, Queen Esther brought to the banquet she had prepared no one but the king and me, and tomorrow I am again invited by her with the king.


for their calamity will rise suddenly, and who knows the ruin those two can bring?


Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.


He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck, will suddenly be destroyed without remedy.


A fool increases his words. No one knows what is to come; who can tell him what will come after him?


So I saw that there is nothing better than that people take joy in their labor, for that is their reward. Who will bring a person to see what will happen after his life?


For who knows what is good for a person in life during the number of the days of his vain life, which pass like a shadow? For who can declare to a person what will occur after him under the sun?


In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God has made the one as well as the other, so that people may not find out anything that comes after them.


All this I took to heart, to examine all these matters, how the righteous and the wise and their deeds are in the hand of God. Whether it is love or hate, no person knows everything that will come before these people.


For no one knows his appointed time. Like fish caught in a cruel net, like birds caught in a snare, so people are ensnared in an evil time, when it suddenly falls on them.


Therefore you also must be ready, for in an hour when you least expect, the Son of Man is coming.


the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not look for him and in an hour he is not aware of
