Why do I take my flesh in my teeth and put my life in my hand?


The merciful man does good for his own soul, but a cruel man troubles his own flesh.


The lazy man does not roast his game, but diligence is the precious wealth of man.


The soul of the sluggard desires and gets nothing, but the soul of the diligent will be made fat.


The sluggard will not plow in season; he will beg at harvest and have nothing.


How long will you sleep, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep?


The words from the mouth of a wise person bring favor, but the lips of a fool consume him.


They shall snatch on the right hand, but still be hungry; and they shall eat on the left hand, and shall not be satisfied; every man shall eat the flesh of his own arm.
