Then vain, worthless men gathered together around him and defied Rehoboam son of Solomon. And Rehoboam was young and timid in heart and was not strong before them.


Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign, and he was king in Jerusalem for eleven years.


And Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.


Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he was king in Jerusalem for eleven years. He did what was evil in the eyes of the Lord his God.


Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he was king in Jerusalem for three months and ten days. He did what was evil in the eyes of the Lord.


A ruler who lacks understanding is a great oppressor, but he who hates ill-gotten gain will prolong his days.


The toil of fools wearies them, for they do not even know the way to the city!


As for My people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O My people, those who lead you cause you to err, and destroy the way of your paths.


O house of David; thus says the Lord: Execute justice each morning, and deliver him who has been robbed from the hand of the oppressor, lest My fury go out like fire and burn so that no one can quench it, because of the evil of your deeds.
