But I said to their children in the wilderness: Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols.


Like grapes in the wilderness, I found Israel. Like the first fruit on the fig tree in its first season, I saw your fathers. But they went to Baal-peor and consecrated themselves to a thing of shame, and they became an abomination like the thing they loved.


But among these there was not a man counted by Moses and Aaron the priest when they counted the Israelites in the Wilderness of Sinai


Behold, these caused the Israelites, through the advice of Balaam, to act unfaithfully against the Lord concerning the incident of Peor, and so the plague came among the assembly of the Lord.


But your eyes have seen all the great deeds of the Lord which He did.


But you who held fast to the Lord your God are alive to this day, every one of you.


Is the sin of Peor, from which we have still not purified ourselves even today, not enough for us, which brought a plague upon the congregation of the Lord
