7 After this I saw in the visions at night, and behold, there was a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and exceedingly strong. And it had great iron teeth. It devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the rest with its feet. And it was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.

I crushed them like the dust of the land, like the mud of the streets, I ground them and stamped them down.


Who can open the jaws of his face? His teeth are terrible all around.


In the visions of God He brought me into the land of Israel and set me upon a very high mountain, on which was as the frame of a city on the south.


Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.


I saw in the night visions, and behold, one like a Son of Man came with the clouds of heaven, and He came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him.


Daniel spoke and said: I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of the heaven were striving upon the Mediterranean Sea.


It grew great, even to the host of heaven. And it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground and stamped upon them.


Now the broken horn and the four horns that stood up in its place are four kingdoms that shall stand up out of his nation, but not with his power.


And I lifted up my eyes, and I saw a man with a measuring cord in his hand.


Then another sign appeared in heaven: Behold, there was a great red dragon with seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads.


I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, with ten crowns on his horns, and blasphemous names on his heads.


“The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom yet, but they will receive authority as kings for one hour with the beast.


Then the angel said to me, “Why do you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns.


The beast, which you saw, was, and is not, and is to ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to destruction. Those who dwell on the earth whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world will marvel when they see the beast that was, and is not, and is to come.
