He did not humble himself before the Lord as his father humbled himself. But he increased his guilt all the more.


He did what was evil in the eyes of the Lord his God and did not humble himself before Jeremiah the prophet, who spoke from the Lord.


I will also speak of Your testimonies before kings and shall not be ashamed.


Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh and said to him, “Thus says the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, that they may serve Me.


I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the ruthless.


For you have said in your heart, “I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will sit also on the mount of the congregation, in the recesses of the north;


Though favor is shown to the wicked, yet he will not learn righteousness; in the land of uprightness he deals unjustly and does not perceive the majesty of the Lord.


“O king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father a kingdom and majesty and glory and honor.


For John said to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”


For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But the tax collectors and prostitutes believed him. And even when you saw it, you did not afterward repent and believe him.


“That servant who knew his master’s will, but did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.


If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.


Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, it is sin.


But He gives more grace. For this reason it says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
