27 The officials, governors, and captains, and the king’s counselors, being gathered together, saw these men upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was a hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor had the smell of fire even come upon them.

He then went and found his body thrown in the road, and the donkey and the lion were still standing by the body. The lion had not eaten the body, nor attacked the donkey.


So now, O  Lord our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You, O  Lord, are God alone.”


that they may know that You alone, whose name is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth.


Lord, Your hand is lifted up, but they do not see it. They see Your zeal for the people and are put to shame; the fire of Your enemies shall devour them.


When you pass through waters, I will be with you. And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame kindle on you.


Then these men were bound in their trousers, their coats, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.


Then the king was exceeding glad for him and commanded that they take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of harm was found on him, because he believed in his God.


All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the officials, the counselors, and the captains have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, save of you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions.


But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.


The king, before whom I also speak freely, knows about these things. For I am persuaded that none of this is hidden from him, for this was not done in a corner.


So I urge you to eat. This is for your preservation, for not a hair shall fall from your head.”


quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in fighting, and turned the armies of foreign enemies to flight.
