During that night the king could not sleep, so he ordered that the book of memorable acts (the chronicles) be brought, and they were read before the king.


The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon,


The king said to them, “I have had a dream, and my spirit is anxious to understand the dream.”


I thought it good to declare the signs and wonders that the Most High God has done for me.


I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.


Then King Belshazzar was greatly troubled, and his countenance was changed in him, and his nobles were astonished.


Then the king went to his palace and passed the night fasting, and no instruments of music were brought before him. And his sleep fled from him.


In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream and visions of his mind while on his bed. Then he wrote the dream and told the sum of the matters.


I, Daniel, was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.
