Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of the hills also quaked, because He was angry.


Therefore the anger of the Lord burns against His people, and He has stretched out His hand against them, and has stricken them, and the hills trembled. Their corpses were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this His anger is not turned away, and His hand is still stretched out.


How long shall the land mourn and the herbs of every field wither? For the wickedness of those who dwell in it, the beasts and the birds have been snatched away, because they said, “He will not see our latter end.”


Who is this that comes up as the Nile, whose waters surge about as the rivers?


Egypt rises up like the Nile, and his waters surge about like the rivers. And he has said, I will go up and will cover the land. I will surely destroy the city and its inhabitants.


So the land trembles and sorrows, for the purposes of the Lord will be performed against Babylon, to make the land of Babylon a desolation without an inhabitant.


After the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off and shall have nothing. And the troops of the prince who shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall come with a flood. And until the end of the war desolations are determined.


The inhabitants of Samaria fear because of the calf of Beth-aven. For its people mourn for it, and its priests shriek for it, because its glory has departed from it.


Therefore the land dries up, and everyone who lives in it withers with the beasts of the field and the birds of the sky; even the fish of the sea disappear.


I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into dirges; I will put sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness on every head; I will make it like the mourning for an only child, and its end like a bitter day.


The Lord God of Hosts, He who touches the earth and it melts, and all who live on it mourn; it all rises up like the Nile, and subsides like the river of Egypt;


As a flood running forth, He will bring to an end the distress, and He will pursue His adversaries into darkness.


“Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
